TVR Tuscan Mk1 4.0 Targa “Rolexceptional”
SOLD
In the world of watches, as everyone knows, a Rolex is an aspirational and safe purchase. Added to that, Rolexes are usually reliable and rather handsome expressions of good taste. Parameters Str8six would like to believe are offered by DK02 TVR.
This particular TVR Tuscan Mk1 4.0 litre does, fortuitously, have much of a Rolex about it - particularly its very eye-catching external colour - TVR's Rolex Blue. This is complemented by the handsome, restrained interior, trimmed in Portland grey hide and matched by grey carpeting.
The exterior and the interior are in lovely condition and the car presents very well on its dark shadow chrome Spider alloys, wearing Maxxis tyres The car’s “Britishness" is exemplified by the Union Jack TVR badge on the Rolex Blue service bonnet.
The car is equipped with air conditioning, and, very unusually, a Parrot. No, this is not the squawking variant, but a very useful in car entertainment system, with extras which can be reviewed on the web.
So far, so very good! As you may have noticed, Str8six usually lists an advertised car’s service history in detail. In the case of DK02 TVR, we have not camouflaged the facts in any way. But to allay any concerns, we felt that a certain amount of explanation might prove helpful.
DK02 TVR was registered to its first owner by Brooklands TVR Exeter. in April 2002. By May 2008, the car had covered 22,787 miles.
Over the next 4 years, the car was MOT'd annually but without an odometer reading being recorded. The odometer was reinstated in Sept 2012. By the time of its MOT in August 2013 the car’s mileage had risen to 24,024.
The previous month, Str8six had been asked to carry out a full 12,000 service and to address anything and everything that needed attention. The owner also supplied us with a set of Nitron shock absorbers and Eibach springs, which he had purchased himself. Once these were fitted, we carried out a full 4 wheel Optiline on the car. The invoice for all this work totalled £2,670 - excluding the shocks and springs, and the VAT.
The car was subsequently put away safely. The fact that there were no more MOT inspections carried out over the next 8 years confirms that the car was in hibernation and not being driven.
In January 2022, the last owner asked Str8six if we would like to buy DK02 TVR. Knowing the car’s service status and having then inspected it at the owner’s home, the car was transported to our works and “fine tooth-combed” on a ramp. The decision to purchase the car was then confirmed.
Unusually, given the time that the car has been dormant, we have already carried out a comprehensive PDI, 12,000 service and full 4 wheel alignment - so we know that the car is right up to the mark and good to go.
We therefore have no reservations in supplying DK02 TVR to its next owner with Str8six’s “All the 12s” package, which includes that FULL 12,000 service, 12 months MOT and 12 months TAX. It will of course also be provided with our 12 Months/12,000 miles FULL WEAR and TEAR, PARTS and LABOUR, NO QUIBBLE WARRANTY. And It will be equipped with a 12v trickle charger and an Anderson jump start cable
