The new TVR Griffith is here!
08/09/17 15:27

Employing a full ground-effect aerodynamic package to deliver outstanding stability and handling capabilities, the new TVR has been designed and engineered with driver focused performance and safety as its main priority.
The use of side exhausts allows a flat floor configuration generating downforce by channeling the airflow along the underside of the vehicle to suck it towards the road. By employing ground effect in the new car's design, TVR has ensured it remains unflinchingly stable at high speeds while delivering exceptional handling and cornering capabilities.
The all new TVR features a 5.0 litre V8 powerplant with custom clutch, flywheel and ECU. In addition, a dry-sump and other enhancements by Cosworth together with a 6-Speed manual gearbox from Tremec are designed to deliver a class leading 400 bhp per tonne power-to-weight ratio.

TVR Manufacturing Ltd - Press Release
• TVR announces that it will unveil its new car to the public at the Goodwood Revival on 8th September
• TVR is the first car manufacturer to launch a brand new vehicle at the world-renowned Revival event
• To celebrate the marque's 70th anniversary, the new car will be accompanied by a display of historic TVRs
• With only 500 Launch Edition cars earmarked for production, TVR will soon stop taking further orders until the public unveiling
5th June, 2017: The iconic British sports car maker, TVR, is delighted to announce that it will be unveiling its eagerly awaited new sports car to the public at the Goodwood Revival on 8-10 September, 2017.
Created in conjunction with Gordon Murray Design, the 1200 kg car promises incredible 200mph performance and 0-60mph in less than 4 seconds. With the special launch edition car being offered at under £90,000, anticipation and demand for the 400BHP per tonne, five-litre, Cosworth developed V8-powered car is already at fever-pitch.
The unveiling of the car at the Goodwood Revival is a first for the world-renowned Sussex-based event. The new car will go on display in the ‘Earls Court’ building at the Revival, and will be showcased at the centre of a display which features a number of older, heritage TVRs, in celebration of the British marque’s 70th anniversary.
Speaking of the planned public launch, Les Edgar, Chairman of TVR said: “We are incredibly excited to be unveiling the new car at the Goodwood Revival. It’s the first time a global launch of a new car has occurred at the event, and it seems an entirely appropriate place for us to do it, with the marque’s motorsport heritage and an enthusiastic audience of dedicated car fans – and in our 70th anniversary year. After a series of secret private viewings organised for the benefit of existing customers for the new car, we know that we have a surefire hit on our hands, and very much look forward to seeing the public reaction in September.”
Speaking on behalf of the Revival, Lord March said, “We are delighted that TVR will feature so strongly over the Revival weekend this year. It is entirely fitting that TVR, as such an iconic British marque, should unveil what will be a very exciting entrant to the global sports car market at our iconic British event and I very much look forward to welcoming them to the Revival in September”.

All for a good cause
17/06/15 21:54
We have had Tim Layzell produce 10 limited edition prints of our Tuscan R.
We will be auctioning off just one per year to a good cause.
This years auction is to help the 2 year old grand daughter, Madeline, of Colin and Tina Apps of TVRSSW.

We hope this will be of interest to the TVR community as a beautiful work of art and future collectors piece.
Print size 90cm x 75cm.
The money raised from the auction will be to help with Madeline’s ongoing care.
Madeline suffered a very traumatic birth, starved of oxygen for 12 minutes causing severe damage to her brain known as HIE, Hypoxic Ischemic Encephalopathy, and because of this she is classed as deaf and blind, she does have partial sight and has recently undergone surgery to have cochlear implants to help to improve her hearing. She also has spastic quadriplegic cerebral palsy which means she has muscle tone issues in all four points of her body, she has high tone in her limbs meaning she is generally stiff in these areas, but has low tone in her trunk meaning she struggles to sit or hold her head up. Madeline has medication to help relax her muscles which gives her movement of her limbs, the downside to the medication being that her head and trunk become even more floppy.
Madeline has also developed epilepsy, initially starting as infantile spasms but lately developing into full seizures which has led to numerous visits to hospitals and intensive care units being kept on life support until doctors could control the seizures, Madeline is now on daily medication which hopefully will prevent or at least regulate the seizures.
Lastly, Madeline does not eat like you and I, from day 1 she has struggled with the suck/swallow reflex and has suffered from reflux, she underwent more surgery to have a peg inserted into her stomach so that she can be fed via a tube.
We hope that the auction of this print will raise some much needed funds to go towards Madeline`s on going care.
You can visit the auction site here (bids close at 12 noon on the 5th July 2105)

A day at the Races

What better way to spend the weekend, but at the Goodwood 73 Members meeting…
What better way of getting there… but in our Trident.
A great event, packed with some stunning cars, including an ex lightweight works Grantura.
..maybe next year we could roll the 69 Tuscan out?

Another large project for us to carry out. This Sagaris had o/s/f damage which required a body off repair to the chassis.
Due to increased values this work can usually be carried out under insurance auspices.
This car will be back on the road in early 2015.

A familiar face returns to the hold

Some of you will recognise Chas’ name. He worked at Racing Green Cars selling upgrades, Jaguars, TVRs and Classics for nine years but then took early retirement in November 2010. At least that was the plan, but he was persuaded to join his brother’s company, PW Cars Ltd, selling Volvos in Farnham Common. As Chas says, Volvos are very good and it was fascinating, but they aren’t TVRs and the customers aren’t like TVRCC members.
So Jason and Chas had a chat and Chas joined Str8six at the end of August 2011 to ‘grow’ the sales operation and to help make Str8six even more customer friendly than it already is!
If you have a nice TVR to sell, or you want it really well prepared, or you would like to buy such a TVR, you can reach Chas via 01844 352735, sales@str8six.co.uk or his mobile 07810 505059. You can also contact Chas if you would like to arrange a visit for yourself or a group of TVR owners.
